TB Management

Indonesia merupakan negara endemic TB. Indonesia dan negara-negara lain dengan beban tertinggi penyakit TB perlu banyak belajar dari negara yang tergolong sukses menanggulangi TB. The Advisory Council for the Elimination of tuberculosis (ACET) merekomendasikan tiga strategi dasar yang sangat penting untuk pencegahan dan pengawasan TB. Prioritas utama adalah menemukan dan mengobati secara lengkap semua penderita TB aktif.
Prioritas kedua adalah investigasi kontak dengan menemukan dan mengevaluasi orang yang telah kontak dengan penderita TB kemudian menetapkan apakah mereka telah terinfeksi TB atau sakit TB dan mengobatinya dengan lengkap. Prioritas ketiga adalah skrining pada populasi dengan risiko tinggi terhadap TB untuk menemukan orang yang terinfeksi TB dan memberikan terapi lengkap untuk mencegah menjadi TB aktif dan penyakit yang menular.

QuantiFERON™ Gold PLUS (QFT-PLUS) merupakan pemeriksaan kualitatif interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) generasi ke-4 terbaru yang menggunakan prinsip deteksi kadar interferon gamma dengan teknik ELISA yang dihasilkan oleh limfosit T CD4+ dan CD8+ setelah berikatan dengan antigen spesifik TB (CFP-10 dan ESAT-6) didalam tabung pemeriksaan pada suhu inkubasi 37oC.

Pemeriksaan QFT-PLUS membutuhkan empat tabung darah khusus, dimana sampel darah whole-blood dimasukkan 1 mL ke dalam masing-masing tabung (total 4 mL darah).
