UBC Peduli Pasien Meningitis

Sebagai wujud nyata dari komitmen perusahaan terhadap kepedulian sosial dan kesehatan masyarakat, PT UBC Medical Indonesia Tbk menyalurkan bantuan kemanusiaan senilai Rp17.200.000 bagi pasien anak pejuang meningitis melalui program CSR bertajuk “UBC Peduli Pasien Meningitis.” Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari rangkaian peringatan Hari Meningitis Sedunia, dan dilaksanakan melalui kerja sama dengan platform crowdfunding terpercaya BenihBaik.com. Donasi tersebut diharapkan dapat meringankan beban biaya pengobatan pasien anak yang tengah berjuang melawan penyakit meningitis, yang dikenal sebagai penyakit infeksi serius pada selaput otak dan tulang belakang. “Setiap nyawa terlalu berharga untuk hilang. Melalui kegiatan ini, kami ingin menunjukkan bahwa kehadiran dan kepedulian kita sekecil apa pun bentuknya dapat menjadi cahaya harapan bagi mereka yang sedang berjuang,” ujar Raditia Nurcahya, Direktur Operasional PT UBC Medical Indonesia Tbk. Selain sebagai bentuk tanggung jawab sosial, inisiatif ini juga bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap bahaya meningitis, pentingnya deteksi dini, serta perlunya dukungan kolektif bagi para pasien dan keluarga. Penyakit meningitis masih menjadi masalah serius di Indonesia. Anak-anak di bawah usia lima tahun merupakan kelompok paling rentan berbagai studi menunjukkan sebagian besar kasus terjadi pada kelompok usia ini. Dibandingkan dengan negara-negara Asia Tenggara lainnya, Indonesia pernah mencatat 78.018 kasus meningitis dengan 4.313 kematian, tertinggi di kawasan ASEAN. Kondisi ini menegaskan bahwa prevalensi meningitis pada anak masih cukup tinggi dan memerlukan perhatian serius, termasuk melalui deteksi dini dan peningkatan akses terhadap alat diagnostik yang akurat.
